What do you get for your money?
The Intel Core Ultra X7 358H combines 16 processing cores with integrated Intel Arc B390 Graphics. The graphics performance in particular sets this configuration apart from traditional business laptops: for photo editing, GPU-accelerated applications, smaller 3D projects and occasional gaming, it offers significantly more headroom than basic integrated graphics solutions. At around 1.4 kg, the laptop also remains well suited to mobile use.The 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM provide plenty of room for large datasets, software development, virtual machines, running local AI models (e.g. smaller LLMs) or extensive multitasking. The memory is soldered and therefore cannot be upgraded. However, it operates at speeds of up to 7467 MT/s, which is particularly fast – an advantage that also benefits the integrated graphics, as they use system memory as graphics memory.
The matte 14-inch display with 2560 × 1600 resolution, 120 Hz and full coverage of Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 is also suitable for color-critical photo and media work. With 400 nits of brightness, it is sufficiently bright for mobile working environments.
With two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an additional USB-C port and HDMI 2.1, the connectivity options are versatile. The 68 Wh battery provides a solid foundation for long mobile workdays.
Who is this laptop suitable for?
The EliteBook 8 G2i 14 is particularly well suited to students and users in computer science, data science, engineering, architecture and creative fields who need plenty of RAM and powerful integrated graphics but do not want to carry a separate GPU.The graphics performance can also be suitable for CAD applications involving smaller models. However, since the graphics solution is not certified for professional CAD software, you should check before purchasing whether your software is officially supported. For demanding rendering, large CAD assemblies or GPU-intensive machine learning, a mobile workstation with a dedicated graphics card remains the more suitable choice.
What warranty does the laptop have?
The HP EliteBook 8 G2i 14 comes with a three-year, internationally valid on-site warranty. In the event of a warranty claim, a technician will come to your home to repair your laptop. The battery is also covered by the warranty.What else should you know?
